In order to research the influence of fiberglass polyester paving mats on the interlayer bond and the degradation of reflect crack resistance performance,we tested the shear and fatigue performance of two specimens with fiberglass polyester paving mats(specimen A and B) and a contrast specimen without fiberglass polyester paving mats.The results show that the shear strength of specimen A and B reduces to 20.5% and 31.3% of that of the contrast specimen,respectively,and crack propagation rates of the contrast specimen,specimen A and B are 3.03 mm,1.90 mm and 4.20 mm per ten thousand times,respectively.This indicates that fiberglass polyester paving mats have a great influence on interlayer bond so that reduce their crack resistance performance.So,one should pay great attention to the interlayer bond when paving fiberglass polyester paving mat.
Fiberglass-polyester paving mat is strong in large deformation capability and bearing tensional stress. Therefore, fiberglass-polyester paving mat may be laid between the old asphalt concrete pavement and overlay to reduce or prevent reflective cracking in asphalt overlay.
